Hi all, welcome to May’s edition of the HubSpot monthly roundup! We hope everyone enjoyed the (brief) sunny spells we had in England. HubSpot’s updates this May gave us a lot to chew on, including the long-awaited release of the UNBOUND lineup, multiple product updates, and a 3-part series on how HubSpot have truly transformed with AI. Read all about it in this month's roundup!
UNBOUND lineup released:
Firstly, we were given the long awaited UNBOUND lineup this May. Unbound is HubSpot’s flagship event, which recently got a full rebrand.
Kicking off the mainstage lineup is firstly, award-winning actress and author Cynthia Erivo. We’ve also got Tom Brady, formal professional quarterback. He’s now a philanthropist and chairman of the advisory board at Birmingham City. Other speakers include Sunita Williams and Mel Robbins, who we have no doubt will deliver insightful keynotes. We’re excited for all the speakers to share their knowledge with us.
Have you got your tickets yet?
Product Updates:
This month, we’re going specific with our chosen product updates. In the age of smartphones and social media, it makes sense for your CRM to be totally synched, so we’re focusing all around HubSpot for mobile. Updates for May include:
Breeze on mobile updates:
- Breeze mobile updates include meeting summaries that automatically sync to your calendar.
- Breeze now gives you prompts based on your activity that you can tap instantly to make happen!
- You can now upload files from your phone to ask Breeze questions about or summarise.
TikTok updates:
- TikTok has slowly taken over, becoming a source of business for so many, and this month there’s been multiple updates to the TikTok connector. TikTok for lead syncing means any form filled out in TikTok can automatically sync to HubSpot, creating contacts and saving time. TikTok ad-conversion events are also newly updated, where HubSpot works alongside TikTok's algorithm to find profiles similar to your leads.
Display your business name when calling prospects:
- HubSpot has now allowed US numbers to register their names to display when calling prospects, allowing them to level up their professionalism. Hopefully, we can see this feature expand out of the US!
Mobile app display updates:
- The list views on your mobile app will not mirror those on desktop. Making for a smoother process and experience on the mobile app.
- Your HubSpot app conversations inbox is now a fully native integration.
HubSpot’s Vision:
This May, we were given a range of insightful content surrounding HubSpot’s AI journey.
Duncan Lennox is the Chief Product and Technology Officer at HubSpot, who released a blog titled ‘Our vision for building an open ecosystem for the Agent era.’ It covered somewhat what we know already regarding HubSpot’s intended direction with AI, explaining how the software is evolving for accessibility amongst Agents as well as humans.
Lennox revealed future plans for full AI parity, and how HubSpot are developing their agents to run HubSpot. For AI to run HubSpot is a pretty bold statement, but comments surrounding the plans have been fairly positive. We’d love to know your thoughts?
Yamini Rangan’s three-part series:
Yamini Rangan also released content in a similar style surrounding the HubSpot vision. We were given a three-part series, ‘Transforming with AI: Our Journey at HubSpot,’ available to both read and listen to, surrounding HubSpot’s thought process in being an AI-first company. We’ve summarised them for you here:
The first part in the series focused on how HubSpot reached a point where 100% of its engineers are using AI. It talked us through their phased rollout since 2023, and the proper processes which ensured secure and scalable AI adoption. Overall, giving us confidence that becoming this AI-first company was achieved properly.
Part two explains how HubSpot is growing mid-transformation. This explains how agents' principles and features have developed the original HubSpot flywheel into the Agent-first HubSpot flywheel. This new flywheel ensures HubSpot are attracting, engaging and delighting their customers better than ever.
Lastly, part three gives us a deep dive into how employees are tracking AI productivity, as well as using and adopting AI in their day-to-day. We also see how specific teams have bought AI into their teams and increased their productivity.
Interesting marketing choices?
As well as being insightful, this long-form content is also an interesting marketing choice. For a long time, HubSpot has taken a step back from the long-form blog-style content. These blog releases feel like answers, where written content can have a more authentic feel, especially coming from important figures in the ecosystem.
To summarise, in an era where people are scared of what AI can do for their jobs and future, transparency is key. We feel like this is HubSpot’s attempt at making a detailed effort to get this point across. Does this help kill any stigma about their AI-first transition? Do you find this style of content answers your questions more thoroughly? We’d love to know your thoughts.
