Our June instalment of the HubSpot Monthly roundup, as always, features some very exciting HubSpot announcements. With arguably one of the biggest partnerships of the year, we know we’re not the only ones who have noticed a very AI-focused June.
Happy 19th Birthday, HubSpot!
Starting off, June has been quite a sentimental month for HubSpot, where founders Dharmesh Shah and Brian Halligan celebrated 19 years since officially starting the company. Dharmesh took to LinkedIn, explaining how the company established itself on the 9th of June 2006, but had already been a budding idea while the two were grad students. Fast forward to now, and they have over 250,000 customers, a huge audience, and are transforming the CRM industry. This is a huge achievement for the two, and we are so excited to see how their journey will continue to flourish!
HubSpot X ChatGPT
Perhaps one of the biggest partnerships of the year, this news has shaken HubSpot users and has been huge for the CRM industry as a whole. The launch of a deep research connector between Open AI and HubSpot was quite a bold decision; controversial in some cases, but undoubtedly very smart. 75% of HubSpot customers were reportedly using ChatGPT already, and a further 800 million to 1 billion use the platform per week, providing grounds for its integration into HubSpot.
HubSpot has been the first ever CRM to launch this deep research connector, allowing them to use this announcement to not only advance their platform's features, but also assert dominance amongst their competitors. They have continually pushed ChatGPT's relevance throughout the month of June, emphasising that the tool can improve all areas and teams across a business.
It has been met with a generally positive response, emphasising how AI can ensure companies are processing and using their data correctly. This works particularly well for smaller teams and the target SMB audience, who may be unsure where to begin with data analysis. It also can prevent siloes occurring in bigger teams, ensuring all data is in alignment.

AI and the Future of Sales, Marketing, and CS:
In recent years, CRM updates have been very heavily AI-focused, and that isn’t stopping any time soon. It can sometimes be questionable where the introduction of automated processes and artificial intelligence can fall within more creative fields. With AI becoming increasingly relied upon in other industries, it could be interpreted that areas such as marketing may fall behind. However, in AI and The Future of Sales, Marketing & CS with HubSpot CEO Yamini Rangan, Rangan revealed that 84% of marketers are actually using AI daily.
SaaStr.ai released a podcast episode, where Rangan explained: “In marketing, you might not be the translation expert, but you can now translate. You might not be the video editing expert, but you can edit your videos right now. You might not be specified like social channel media expert, but AI is going to help you do that.” emphasisng that AI for marketing teams has the capacity to bridge quite common knowledge gaps or problems. She also highlighted the importance of thriving under these automation changes; we already know HubSpot is very pro-AI, and very much pushing the narrative that if you are not capitalising from it, you are steps behind your competitors that do.
Conclusion
June saw a lot of AI advancements, with undoubtedly the most prominent being the ChatGPT partnership, which was a huge milestone for HubSpot to celebrate around their 19th birthday. We are super excited for what July has in store!
