What is Data Hub?

5 mins

Another INBOUND announcement we’re excited to shed light on is the announcement of HubSpot's New Data Hub! Formally known as Operations Hub, this is not just a name change; it is a complete rebrand of the hub as we knew it.

So what’s changed?

You will still get to use lots of the Operations Hub features; however, they have been significantly upgraded. Operations Hub was previously tailored to more technical HubSpot users or RevOps teams, whereas now, Data Hub is accessible for all users to act on its principles.

The purpose of storing data inside your CRM, is so that it is easily accessible and understandable. Your data can then be used to power your decisions, as well as work with with AI tools to help your strategy even further. However, if you’re relying on this data to make big decisions or plans, it is imperative that it's properly looked after; This is where Data Hub comes in.

Features:

  • Broken data is an extremely common problem that affects many businesses, where many don’t even realise their data is broken before it’s too late. Data Hub fixes and looks after the data, both inside and outside of your CRM. Through features like duplication management, the spotting of misinformation, and data enrichment, it ensures your data is clean and ready to be acted on. This automation will also help save time on manual tasks and reduce mistakes where possible.

  • Another AI-powered automation in Data Hub, is its ability to coincide with external sources. This means it can pull data from third parties, such as Excel or Google Sheets, and put it directly into HubSpot.

  • AI also means that if you deem information important or unmissable, you can tailor your prompts to track down this data and ensure it's always a priority. For instance, maybe there’s an important location, date or time? You can create alerts or reminders in Data Hub for you to act on accordingly. This finetuning also comes in the form of health checks, where Data Cloud could even flag up issues you don’t even know exist yet!

  • The last feature we’re going to touch on is the ability to enrich your data through Data Hub. Presentations of your data are key, and help understand or make predictions on your numbers visually. Data enrichment in this form also appeals universally, where non-technical teams are presented with a different way to understand the data in front of them. This universal appeal was one of the big reasons behind the reimagination of Operations Hub to Data Hub, as different teams are given the tools to properly use their data.

Data Agents:

Data Hub also works with Data Agents to help make your data as accurate as possible. One of their most interesting features is Smart Properties, which are self-creating and updating fields based on your unique prompts, which is another feature to ensure no opportunity or information is missed. There are also Smart Columns, which are the automation behind the pulling of your data from one external source into HubSpot.

Overall:

The rebrand of Operations Hub has been a significant development for HubSpot and all of its users. Where Operations Hub was purely tailored to technical, data-savvy people, now, everyone can use their data with ease. From features like data enrichment, as well as AI-powered fields, many tasks have become automated, and teams can really optimise their productivity. Having all teams be able to access and understand their data is also a great way to prevent any silos and make sure everyone is working on the same page.
